Deadline postponed for the Electronic Message Management System (IYS)
On May 23rd 2020, it was announced that some deadlines regarding the Message Management System (IYS) have been postponed for 3 months as per the power given to the Ministry of Trade under the relevant regulation. Please refer the Turkish version of the announcement

In this regard, the new deadlines are:
Deadline
for
transfer
ing
previously obtained consents by the Service Provider to the IYS is 31 August 2020.
Deadline
for
control
ling
the consents by the consumers through the IYS which are previously given to the Service Providers is 30 November 2020
.
However, it should be noted that the Service Providers and the Intermediary Service Providers who want to send electronic commercial messages will still need to control consent of the consumers through the IYS as of 1 September 2020, as there is no change/postponement on the effective date of the relevant articles.
Therefore, it is obligatory for the Service Providers and the Intermediary Service Providers to fully complete their integration with the IYS
by
1 September 2020.
It is worth to mention that foreign entities that engage in electronic marketing activities targeting persons living in Turkey are also reminded to transfer their consents to this new system as well.
